It’s mid February and your club is holding its annual registration day

Here’s the scene:  It’s mid February, Its Saturday afternoon, and your club is holding its annual registration day at the club rooms.

You’ve done everything right.  The President and Coach are in attendance, there are balls being kicked around the oval and at the netball courts next door five of your senior players are hosting a come and try clinic for kids who have turned up to register.

The club secretary has been here a dozen times before.  The kids will show up, mum or dad will come with them, they’ll fill out a form, hand over 80 bucks, be given a new pair of socks and be told that for under 14’s training is on Tuesday night at 4pm and if your kid doesn’t come to training then they won’t play Saturday.  And.... would you or your partner like to be the team manager?

Sound familiar?  Except for one thing.  Its 2010.

So, you’ve advertised on your website, and the local newspaper ran a story for you and there are lots of people and now the problems start to emerge ... stuff you’ve simply never seen before.

“Do you take EFTPOS”?  Of course you don’t, you only do this once a year and you are a volunteer run club.

“I have no cash with me”?  Well you have to pay before you play!

“Can we pay later?  Can I pay my fees off?  Will you be here Wednesday and we will pay you then? “

For one thing, your already behind the game.  You did a great job promoting registration day on your website but missed a chance to take that person’s seasons fees right then and there, while they were online.

Later that night, someone takes the cash tin - there are thousands of dollars in there that someone will have to take home and then bank sometime Monday.

Your committee sits down and starts to work through the forms, and realise half the parents have missed the date of birth field because it didn’t photocopy correctly.  You cannot make out names, and someone forgot to write on the forms who had paid and who had not.

Sound familiar.  Believe us we have all been there before.

So now life is hard for you but it’s also hard for your customers. Enter PayMySport – the online registration and payments solution by SportingPulse.

Online Payment Systems allow you to take detailed registration details and payments for all sorts of things throughout the season - but it’s simply a brilliant solution for club registrations.

First up, people who see you promoting registration day will see then and there that they can pay online, and that gives them a reason to join your club, not some one else’s!

Second, it’s easy... click through, fill out an online form and then pay online with credit card or paypal account.  They get great payment options and you have just given them a reason to pay you straight away, looking after your cash flow and reducing the job of chasing up missing payments.

Third, You will get much better information without the trauma of data entry.  It’s just that much easier to read something someone has typed rather than written, and no one can miss entering the date of birth if you have made it a compulsory field on your registration form!

The more people who pay online means money electronically into your bank account, not someone running back and forward to the bank with the old biscuit tin!

And, it's 2010 – your customers want to pay online.  Why make it hard for them?
