Northern NSW Football National Youth Championships hosting rights extended.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has announced that Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) will host the best young male and female footballers in the nation at the annual FFA National Youth Championships until 2014.

NNSWF has hosted the prestigious tournaments at Coffs Harbour since 2006 and the continuation of this for a further three years came with the full blessing of FFA Senior Management.

"FFA is of the opinion that the tournaments conducted in the past by Northern NSW Football have been of the highest standard and has no reservations awarding retention of hosting rights to Northern once again, with the FFA and Northern committed to the hosting of the Championships through to 2014," FFA’s Head of Game Development Matt Bulkeley said.

Northern NSW Football CEO David Eland was pleased with the decision, seeing it as an opportunity to put the region in the national spotlight, as well as providing local players with the forum to compete against Australia’s best at home.

"This outcome is reflective of the outstanding championships that our staff have presented for the last six years, the highly professional tender document that we prepared and the fact that you’d be hard pressed to find a better location than Coffs Harbour to conduct the Championships," Mr Eland said.

"The FFA National Youth Championships provide NNSWF and North Coast Football with an opportunity to showcase the most talented girls and boys in Australia. It also provides NNSWF’s State Teams with the vehicle to press for National selection on home soil," Mr Eland concluded.

The 2011 FFA National Youth Championships, hosted by Northern NSW Football, will be conducted at BCU International Stadium Coffs Harbour from 11th-15th July (Girls) and 3rd- 7th October (Boys).
