Fifty-eight young footballers were recently invited to the second stage of the selection process for School Sport Victoria’s 2011 Australian Football 15 and Under Metropolitan Team, DraftStar has been following the development of three of these young athletes.

Brandon Davis, Jamie Sackville, & Corey Mirabelli are one step closer towards their goals of representing the State of Victoria in the upcoming national championships.

According to DraftStar Co-founder founder Ben Dixon, their achievement is a testament to the commitment that these boys display.

“The effort that these boys put into their footy is incredible and they deserve every bit of success that comes their way. They’ve attended numerous DraftStar camps between them, taking time out of their school holidays to improve their footy. Commitment to be the best you can be, goes a long way.”

Co-founder Robbie Campbell was ecstatic when he heard the news.

“It’s something every coach loves to hear - when young athletes who you have coached have achieved something great in the game.  I’ll be eager to hear if they can make it to the final stage. This is why we created DraftStar, to help athletes achieve great things.”

The parents of the boys have a lot to be proud of. Just to make it this far is a tremendous achievement, that reinforces their hard work.

"DraftStar has equipped my son with mental and physical strengths, the confidence to always have a go, to give 100% in anything he does, and most importantly, never give up, no matter what the outcome," says Corey  Mirabelli’s mother, Miki Mirabelli.

For young athletes looking to pursue a career in football, the message is simple - be prepared to dedicate yourself and put in the hard yards.

DraftStar camps, running each school holidays all over Australia, can help you on your pathway.
